Mitchell Salmon is an Executive Managing Director in Lee & Associates’ New York office. He specializes in retail and office leasing, as well as asset management and acquisitions.
Mr. Salmon joined Lee & Associates in 2017 from Garrison Investment Group where he worked as a managing director. While there, he established the retail asset management team and developed a strategic plan for the private equity firm’s national retail platform across multiple asset types, growing the portfolio from 3 million sq. ft. to over 9.2 million sq. ft. in 17 states over a 4-year period. Supervising the lease up and disposition program, he oversaw the sale of $700 million of assets, successfully realizing the funds’ mandate.
Mr. Salmon has supervised internal operational teams, on-site property staffs, and all forms of third-party vendors, including leasing, management, construction, legal, marketing and municipal relations. While at Garrison, he also oversaw $44 million in ground-up construction for the redevelopment of 343,000 square feet of retail space across the country.
Prior to Garrison, Mr. Salmon spent 15 years at Mall Properties, Inc. (now Olshan Properties), most notably leasing and developing the retail/commercial space at the Parkchester Apartment Complex in the Bronx, NY. He was also responsible for 6.5 million square feet of commercial properties in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Virginia and Louisiana.
Over the years, Mr. Salmon has executed over 1,000 transactions with national tenants that include TJ Maxx, Macy’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, LA Fitness, Crate & Barrel, Lululemon Athletica, Chipotle, and Lowe’s Home Improvements. Early in his career, he served as a vice president at Lucille Roberts Health Clubs, Inc. and developed an innovative retail expansion program for the fitness brand.
